Zim Zam Zoum (Promethean Version) is an innovative  programme for teaching
French to children aged 6 to 12. The scheme is presented in the format of 7 comprehensive,
colourful and engaging Promethean Activprimary flipcharts for the interactive whiteboard,
centred on seven of the Zim Zam Zoum themed songs with full animation to each song,
starring the delightfully drawn Zim Zam Zoum characters!  Zim Zam Zoum must be run in
conjunction with Promethean Activprimary or Activstudio software as it uses the
Promethean interface of tools to make lessons of maximum interactivity.

Structure of Zim Zam Zoum (Promethean Version)

• 4 Modules (one per year at KS2)

• Each module comprises 6 units

• Each unit corresponds to 4 to 6 weeks of teaching at KS2

• Every unit has a central animated song, written as a springboard to role-play,
each presenting words, phrases and sentences on two or three vocabulary topics

• The songs are supported in the units by a comprehensive progression of interactive
whiteboard activities to practise and consolidate language, using all the Promethean
tools and features

• Animated explanations of simple grammar, together with 35 printable activity sheets
support the songs and exercises.

• Flashcards, vocabulary sheets and songwords can be printed out for use away from the
interactive whiteboard

• Lesson plans are provided for each unit as a guide, but use of units can be completely
customized and the flipcharts provide highly flexible lesson opportunities

• Differentiation is in-built with a Piste Verte for the first year of KS2 and a Piste Rouge
for extension at KS2 or the first year of KS3.
